7 kW Single-Gun DC Charging Pile

Overview

The Klitv 7 kW single-gun AC charging pile is an entry-level EV charging station designed for high-volume residential and commercial deployment. Operating at 220V single-phase with a 32A rated output current, it delivers 7 kW of continuous charging power — sufficient to fully charge most battery-electric vehicles overnight or during a standard 8-hour workplace dwell.

Available in two form factors — a 1,611 mm floor-standing pedestal and a compact 580 mm wall-mounted unit — the charger suits a wide range of installation environments without requiring different hardware. Both configurations use the same internal electronics, firmware, and connector assembly.

Who It Is For

The 7 kW AC charging pile is the correct product for any deployment where vehicles are parked for extended periods: residential apartment blocks, gated communities, commercial office buildings, hotel car parks, and public parking operators adding EV provision as an amenity.

It is not the right product for high-throughput applications where vehicles dwell for less than one hour — for those scenarios, DC fast chargers (20 kW+) are more appropriate. For mixed-use car parks where some bays need fast turnaround and others are for longer dwell, the 7 kW unit works alongside DC chargers in the same installation.

Technical Design

Enclosure and Installation

The enclosure is constructed from high-temperature-resistant and corrosion-resistant material with a powder-coated exterior. IP54 protection meets the requirements of IEC 61851 for outdoor installation. The floor-standing variant is column-mounted on a 133 × 265 mm footprint; the wall-mounted variant requires a standard 80 mm conduit entry.

Human-Machine Interface

The front panel features an 8-inch LCD touch screen with 800 × 600 resolution. The interface displays real-time charging status, session energy delivered, time elapsed, and billing information. The screen is readable in direct sunlight and is rated for outdoor temperature conditions.

Payment and Authentication

The unit supports two payment methods requiring no smartphone app: ISO 14443 RFID card swipe (compatible with standard RFID-based fleet or network cards) and QR code scan (linking to a web-based payment page or operator-defined URL). For managed deployments (workplace, fleet), RFID authentication can be configured to restrict use to authorised cards without payment.

Communication and Remote Management

Four communication interfaces are available simultaneously: RS485, RS232, Ethernet (RJ45), and 4G/GPRS cellular. The 4G module allows remote monitoring, charging session reporting, and CMS connectivity without requiring site Wi-Fi. OCPP 1.6 is supported for integration with any compatible charge management system.

Protection Functions

The unit includes a comprehensive protection suite:

  • Undervoltage and overvoltage — disconnects output if grid voltage exceeds safe operating range
  • Overcurrent — electronic current limiting with circuit breaker backup
  • Residual current / leakage — Type A RCD integrated
  • Lightning protection — surge protection on both AC input and communication lines
  • Emergency stop — physical emergency stop button on the enclosure
  • Temperature protection — thermal shutdown if internal temperature exceeds limits

Deployment Considerations

Grid Connection

The 7 kW unit requires a dedicated 40A single-phase circuit. For multi-unit deployments (10+ units), a dynamic load balancing controller should be considered to prevent simultaneous peak draw exceeding the site’s supply capacity.

MOQ and Lead Time

Standard configuration (Type 2 connector, white RAL 9016 enclosure) is available from stock with 2–3 week lead time for orders under 20 units. Custom firmware, alternative connector types, or non-standard enclosure colours require a 4-week production run.

OEM and Private Label

The 7 kW platform is the most commonly OEM-branded product in our range. We support custom enclosure branding (logo panel, RAL colour), firmware splash screen and language customisation, and white-label CE documentation issued under the buyer’s brand. Contact our export team to discuss minimum order quantities for OEM runs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What electrical supply does the 7 kW AC charger require? +

The 7 kW AC charger requires a dedicated single-phase 220–240 V circuit with a minimum 32 A breaker. Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in compliance with local electrical codes.

Which electric vehicles are compatible with this charger? +

The charger is compatible with all EVs equipped with a J1772 (Type 1), Mennekes (Type 2), GB/T, or NACS inlet, depending on the connector variant ordered. The actual charge rate is limited by the vehicle's onboard charger (OBC) rating.

How long does it take to fully charge an EV at 7 kW? +

A typical 60 kWh battery EV charges from 20% to 80% in approximately 5–6 hours at 7 kW — well suited to overnight home or all-day workplace charging.

Does the 7 kW charger support remote management via OCPP? +

Yes. The unit supports OCPP 1.6 and can be integrated with any compatible charge management system (CMS) for remote monitoring, user authentication, load scheduling, and energy reporting.

Is OEM or private label available? +

Yes. Custom enclosure colour, firmware branding, and CE documentation under your brand name are available. Contact our export team for OEM minimum order quantities and lead times.
