The 7–22 kW AC Charging Pile is Klitv’s Level 2 charging platform for family residences, community parking lots, commercial office buildings, and public parking. One product line covers the three AC power levels that matter in practice — 7 kW, 11 kW, and 22 kW — so a project can specify the right output for each zone instead of buying from different hardware families.
Every unit sends alternating current to the vehicle’s onboard charger through a Type 2 or J1772 connector, which is what makes AC charging the most reliable and cost-effective option wherever vehicles park for more than an hour. At 7 kW (AC 220 V), the pile adds roughly 35–50 km of range per hour, enough to restore most passenger EVs overnight. The 11 kW and 22 kW models move to three-phase AC 380 V supply and charge proportionally faster for vehicles with three-phase onboard chargers.

The three models share one enclosure, display, and control platform, so specification, installation, and management stay consistent across a site even when the power level changes.

Choosing between them is mostly a question of supply and vehicle capability rather than budget. A 22 kW pile does not charge a vehicle whose onboard charger is limited to 7.4 kW any faster than a 7 kW unit — the vehicle decides the actual rate. Where a site has three-phase power and serves vehicles that can accept it, however, the 22 kW model shortens dwell time considerably for the same installation footprint and cable run.
Technical Design
Display and Driver Interaction
A 4.3-inch display guides drivers through the session, and startup is deliberately simple: RFID card, Bluetooth app control, or Plug & Charge for compatible vehicles. That combination lets an operator run the same hardware in very different ways — access-controlled bays for residents and staff, app-scheduled off-peak charging for a community, or open Plug & Charge access at a public lot.
Connectivity and Management
4G and Ethernet are both built in, so the pile does not depend on whatever site network happens to exist — a cellular connection covers open parking lots, while Ethernet serves garages and buildings with existing infrastructure. OCPP 1.6J compliance makes the unit manageable from any standard charging management system, with remote monitoring of sessions, energy, and faults.
Safety and Protection
The enclosure carries an IP65 rating, dust-tight and protected against water jets, and is engineered to operate from -20 °C to +55 °C. Electrical protection covers overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, leakage, lightning surge, and emergency stop, so a fault on one unit does not put a building’s supply or a vehicle at risk.
Smart Charging and Load Management
Charging infrastructure is usually limited by the site’s electrical supply, not by the charger. Through an OCPP-compatible CMS, multiple piles participate in dynamic load balancing: the platform continuously distributes the available capacity across all active sessions, so a parking lot can add charge points without an expensive transformer upgrade.
For sites on time-of-use tariffs, the same platform schedules sessions into off-peak windows, cutting energy cost without asking drivers to change their habits. Cards, app accounts, and Plug & Charge identities can be metered separately, which is what makes mixed-use deployments — residents plus visitors, tenants plus public — practical to bill.
Deployment Scenarios
The single product line covers the four patterns that account for most AC charging demand:
- Home and residential — one 7 kW unit per allocated bay on single-phase supply, private and simple to schedule.
- Community and apartment parking — shared 7 kW or 11 kW units with card or app access and per-user billing through the CMS.
- Office and workplace — 7 kW or 11 kW bays that fill during the workday, often with load balancing across a limited building supply.
- Public and destination parking — 22 kW units at hotels, retail centres, and municipal lots where dwell time is hours and three-phase supply is usually available.
Deployment Specifications
The 7 kW model requires a single-phase AC 220 V supply; the 11 kW and 22 kW models require three-phase AC 380 V. Each unit should have its own dedicated circuit and protection, and multi-unit installations are best served by a dedicated EV distribution board sized for the full connected load — or for a lower managed load if the site will run dynamic load balancing. Cable sizing depends on the run length from the distribution board to each mounting position.
