Overview
The Klitv EV Charger Connector Adapter is a configurable interface accessory for connecting charging equipment and vehicles that use different connector shapes. Also known as a charging gun adapter or gun-head converter, it avoids changing the complete charging cable when the connector pairing can be handled by a dedicated adapter.
The product is intended for EV charger distributors, charging-network operators, fleet managers, and OEM accessory programs. Because connector standards and electrical limits vary by market and equipment, the exact mating pair and rating are specified for each order rather than treated as universal.
What the Adapter Does
The adapter provides a mechanical and electrical interface between two supported connector formats, such as a fixed charging-gun format and the corresponding vehicle inlet. It is useful when a cable, charger, or vehicle needs to remain in service across a mixed-standard fleet or market.
An adapter does not convert charging protocols by itself. The charging station and vehicle must still support the session’s control and communication requirements. It also does not increase charging power: the maximum current and voltage are constrained by the approved adapter rating and by the weaker limit of the connected charger and vehicle.
Configuration and Qualification
Every project is reviewed against four inputs:
| Requirement | Information to provide |
|---|---|
| Connector interfaces | Charging-gun standard and vehicle-inlet standard |
| Electrical duty | AC or DC, rated voltage, rated current, and duty cycle |
| Environment | Indoor or outdoor exposure, temperature, and moisture conditions |
| Commercial scope | Quantity, target market, certification needs, branding, and packaging |
Common adapter families include Type 1, Type 2, NACS, CCS, and regional connector variations, but not every cross-standard pairing is suitable for every voltage or current level. We will confirm the available configuration against the intended charger and vehicle before quotation.
Applications
Distributors and aftermarket suppliers. Build a focused adapter range around the connector standards sold in your market, with retailer-ready packaging and your own brand.
Charging networks and fleets. Address mixed-vehicle connector populations without replacing otherwise serviceable charging cables, subject to the site’s electrical design and safety review.
OEM accessory programs. Add a branded compatibility accessory to an existing charger portfolio, sales package, or installation kit.
Ordering
Share the station connector, vehicle connector, target voltage and current, destination country, and required quantity. If available, include photos or drawings of both mating interfaces so our team can confirm the correct configuration before production.
